Gamed Out

I've got so many regular games going (and I'm running two of them) that it was dominating my weekends, so I'm taking a break for the rest of October. Partly this is so I can get my events for Carnage ready, but that won't take all that much time. I think the other part is that I just need to clear my head a little bit so I can write more.

  1. It's like having lots of opportunities to play games takes up the time we'd spend writing about them.

Looking forward to seeing you at Carnage, and the continuation of the Conspiracy X game!

    1. Oh, God, no way would I ever worry about clearing my head to write about games. That's all just stream of consciousness. I was talking about the stuff I actually try to do well.

Definite secondings on the Carnage anticipation!

  2. Oh, for sure, focused writing's separate from hobby writing. I've found that when I have enough actual hobby activities going on, that seems to scratch the same itch I felt that led to blogging. It's just now I have nothing to show for my time.

    1. Yeah, I know what you mean. I gave up even summarizing the D&D sessions, which is kind of a pity because I'll lose some fun memories. I force myself to do the superhero campaign blog because it helps me keep track of all the stuff going on. And, I mean, what's a comic book without back issues?

Sometimes the only reason I update this blog is that a long time ago the RPG Blog Network thing threatened to take blogs off syndication if they don't post every 4-6 weeks. I don't think anything human has touched the administrative functions of that site in this decade, so I guess it's more a superstition than a legitimate concern. But it could be automatic, right?

    2. It never hurts to keep the feed fresh. Whereas I can see from your sidebar that I last wrote a post 5 months ago.

Time to work up a "this is what's been happening" post and avoid leading with "Sorry for not posting in gosh, has it really been that long?"
